"The Red Forest" was started at the same time as "Gentle Snow". The were both started from a painting on Yuppo paper with lots of thick watercolor paint. They were laid over the yuppo paperand paint and pressed to make a print, from there each painting took shape.

"Gentle Snow"
watermedia
22"x15"

Today's snow is not so colorful, but it is still beautiful big flakes.
I am working on monochromatic paintings with my students of all ages. This apparent black and white painting was a surprise to my younger students because it is painted with Alizarin Crimson and Windsor Green, not black.
