This abstract painting was done with liquid watercolor using an eye-dropper on wet 140" arches watercolor paper.  Then I used a brush to spread the paint around.  After it dried I added a few details.

I did a smaller version of this painting first and was pleased with the results.  It was a soothing, comforting painting; this is the larger version, a little different but still relaxing.  To purchase contact Linda at lindaabein@gmail.comTo see the original smaller version of this painting go to http://www.etsy.com/shop/beingallery.

After I painted this painting I left it on my easel to decide if I was done.  I usually leave a painting around a few days or weeks to decide if I am finished or want to "tweak" it a little more.  My students came in and they always look around to see whats new.  One of the girls  just loved the painting of the  peaches because they looked so fuzzy.  She was just smiling and happy when she looked at the painting.  It is always fun for me to see their expressions and hear their comments.

"Iris Ballet" water color by TexasFine Artist Linda Bein

"Iris Ballet"
transparent watercolor
22"x15"
$495
This painting was started months, maybe years ago.  Last week I made a decision to finish the stacks of paintings in my studio, closets, and framing room.  I bring one out set in on my easel, and look at it for awhile.  I am always interested in my students' reactions to my work. This one had many responses. Some liked the flowers, others said angels and several saw ballerinas. I decided to finish it into Irises, but the ballerinas still received comments, hence the name Iris Ballet.  What do you see?

I am dreaming of springtime, daffodils, and wildflowers, can you tell the heat is getting to me!!  I have been trimming rose bushes, mowing the lawn, pulling weeds, and spraying the "Bitter Sneezeweed" in the pasture.  It is too hot to work outside, I am rebelling and staying in today and tomorrow to blog and paint!!
